Ok, I am testing alternatives for Inoreader now. Most free services I found limit the number of subscriptions. G2Reader and Feeder.co seem to offer limitless feeds. Tiny tiny RSS is a bit overwhelming, so I will leave that to the experts ;-)
G2Reader: Import of 372 feeds took 3min but it did not notify me when it was done, so you can probably reload at some point instead of waiting 20min like I did. It then told me "Some feeds (333) from list are being prepared for crawling, give us a moment to finish data request..." which was displayed for a very long time. It goes back to the first available article (e.g. in 2013) instead of stopping after something more reasonable like the past 24h. I marked everything as read to start fresh, here is the screenshot: G2Reader.
G2Reader does not have filters or actions as far as I can tell. It is confusing that the free version is supposed to include only 100 feeds, yet I have no problem adding to mine. It has at this time (2 hours later) still not finished crawling. Their last tweet is from 2016 so I am not sure if there is even still active development.
Feeder told me "something went wrong" the first and the second import. However, it also displayed the import history as a success so that was a bit confusing. I asked them on Twitter about the import and hope to get a reply soon. The crawling seemed to be finished immediately after that. I think they just stopped at a certain number of articles (297) because only a few feeds where displayed going weeks back. Marked everything as read to start from now on, here is the screenshot: Feeder.co.
Overall, Feeder's design is much more modern. The free version only updates every 2 hours (not an issue for me). You have to pay (5$/month) for filters and actions. But if you are just looking for a user-friendly design with different viewing options and unlimited subscriptions, I can recommend it.
For now, I am going with Feeder.co and will update here when I am sure that the import was really successful and if it is reliable :-)
UPDATE: The import was complete, so if you sign up and get a similar error message, just check the import history to see if it displays "Success" :-)
